McCarthy Tétrault today announced that Heidi Gordon has been appointed Co-Head of the Firm’s National Mergers & Acquisitions Group, alongside Jonathan See and Shea Small.

Based in Toronto, Heidi has a national M&A practice advising Canadian and international corporations, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors on significant public and private M&A transactions. She regularly leads complex mandates and brings together cross-disciplinary teams to support client objectives. Widely regarded by clients and peers for her strategic judgment, entrepreneurial spirit, and client-centric approach, Heidi has earned broad market recognition, including from leading legal publications such as Chambers and Partners and Lexpert.

“Heidi is a highly respected dealmaker with strong commercial judgment and a national perspective,” said Jonathan See, Co-Head of McCarthy Tétrault’s National M&A Group. “She has earned the trust of clients across industries, and her experience and judgment make her exceptionally well positioned to help lead our M&A practice.”

Cameron Belsher, who has served as Co-Head of McCarthy Tétrault’s National M&A Group for nearly a decade and previously held Firm leadership roles, including as Chair of the Board of Partners, will continue his active M&A practice. A Chambers-ranked Eminent Practitioner, Cameron is one of the Firm’s most experienced M&A partners and a trusted adviser on some of Canada’s most significant domestic and cross-border transactions. He will continue to work closely with the Firm’s M&A leadership team in support of the strength and direction of the National M&A Group.

“Cameron has played an instrumental role in the ongoing success of our M&A practice, and we are grateful for the experience and leadership he brings to the group,” said Shea Small, Co-Head of the National M&A Group. “Heidi’s appointment is a strong addition to our M&A leadership, and we look forward to the impact she will have in this role.”
