Anu Koshal to lead National Tax Disputes and Tax Litigation Group

We are pleased to announce that Anu Koshal, partner in our Toronto office, has assumed the role as Lead of our National Tax Disputes and Tax Litigation Group within the Firm’s Tier 1-ranked National Tax Group.

In recent years, Anu has been at the centre of some of Canada’s most complex and precedent-setting tax disputes, advising major corporations and financial institutions on their most challenging tax litigation matters. His practice is distinguished by sustained involvement in contested proceedings of significant scale and sensitivity, reflecting the level of trust clients place in his experience and advocacy.

Over the same period, our National Tax Disputes and Tax Litigation Group has expanded immensely in size and in the complexity and profile of matters it handles, reflecting its increasingly prominent presence.

Anu has taught trial advocacy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and is a frequent author and speaker on litigation topics for organizations, including the Tax Executives Institute, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society. A dedicated mentor, he was named the Firm’s Mentor of the Year in 2025.

Anu is repeatedly recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers Canada, ITR World Tax, The Canadian Legal Expert Directory, and Lexpert Special Edition: Litigation and Best Lawyers in Canada.
