Tsleil-Waututh Nation to acquire Hastings Casino in Vancouver

On November 7, 2025, Tsleil-Waututh Nation announced that it entered into a definitive agreement for the purchase of the casino business and related real property interests at Hastings Racecourse & Casino from Great Canadian Entertainment. The closing of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals, approval of the City of Vancouver and other closing conditions.

Hastings Casino, located in the historic Hastings Park, is a local entertainment landmark in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia that provides a diverse range of gaming options for guests, as well as food and beverage, and has been an important part of the Vancouver community for several decades.

Tsleil-Waututh Nation, known as People of the Inlet, is a Coast Salish Nation whose territory centres around Burrard Inlet in the Greater Vancouver region. Tsleil-Waututh people carry a Sacred Trust, a responsibility, to care for and restore traditional territory to its former state. Tsleil-Waututh Nation owns and operates several businesses that range from recreational facilities, real estate projects, forestry and tourism.

Founded in 1982, Great Canadian Entertainment is one of Canada’s premier gaming and hospitality companies with gaming, entertainment, hospitality and resort facilities in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
