Brookfield Infrastructure Partners closes US$1.3B acquisition of Cyxtera Technologies through its portfolio company, Evoque Data Center Solutions

On January 16, 2024, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. ("Brookfield") completed its acquisition of Cyxtera Technologies ("Cyxtera") through its portfolio company, Evoque Data Center Solutions ("Evoque"). Evoque and Cyxtera will combine to form a leading data centre company with operations in over 50 locations. Previously, on November 1, 2023, Brookfield and Cyxtera had entered into an asset purchase agreement under which Brookfield would acquire substantially all of Cyxtera's assets for US$775 million, and purchase the real estate at which seven of Cyxtera’s U.S. data centers are located, bringing the total purchase price to US$1.3 billion.

Brookfield, based in Toronto, Ontario, is a global infrastructure company that owns and operates high quality, long-life assets in the utilities, transport, energy and data infrastructure sectors across North and South America, Asia Pacific and Europe.

Evoque, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a colocation provider with over 30 data center facilities globally.

Cyxtera, headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida, is a global leader in colocation, interconnection services, and digital infrastructure. Cyxtera delivers cloud-like and flexible infrastructure solutions across its global data center platform and robust partner ecosystem.
